Challenging stereotypes - the world of construction has and continues to change dramatically. We'll be exploring this sector through the career journeys of various women who have built a career in construction. 9:05 - 9:55 Routes into Construction

There are over 700 opportunities in construction to choose from, enabling the industry to have something to offer everyone; civil engineering, building services, trades, technicians and professional occupations. This session will give you guidance explaining where to go and who to talk to if you feel this is the career for you. With a special guest from Walsall College.

 

Thursday 25th March 2021

9:05 - 9:55 Offsite Construction

Construction involves people who sit in offices just as much as those who work onsite. Being interested in construction doesn't mean you have to get your hands dirty. Want to build the world from behind a desk, this session could be for you? With special guests from Accord Group, Erban Homes, Wilmott Dixon and St Modwen Properties.

 

13:30 - 15:30 Learn Live: Careers in Construction

We’ve partnered with construction companies working in the Black Country and the surrounding areas to showcase the exciting projects they’re currently involved in building. This session will highlight the variety of job roles involved in this fantastic industry and also an insight into how the world of construction is changing. With special guests from Balfour Beatty and the Midlands Metro Alliance.

 

Friday 26th March 2021

9:05 - 9:55 A History of Construction

House building through the ages; how have designs and skills of the workforce needed to change over time? Join us to discover how house building will continue to develop to meet the changing aspects of our daily lives, beliefs and values. With special guests from St Modwen Properties, Black Country Museum and Accord.
