The Day the Crayons Quit

3 May 2019

The children of Shenstone arrived at school on Tuesday 30th April to find their 'crayons' protesting at being overused! Red crayon is unhappy because she has to colour in fire engines, Santas and hearts while blue crayon is used so much, he can no longer see out of the crayon box. During an assembly, the children heard from all of the crayons about why they are unhappy and started to think about how to cheer them up.

Inspired by the book 'The Day the Crayons Quit' the children at Shenstone are taking part in a whole school English unit of work looking at how to write letters and persuade others.  The children will be creating a book of letters to persuade the crayons not to quit.
