Parental Engagement day

16 December 2016

15th December 2016 saw Shenstone Lodge School – The Brades Lodge open its doors once again to the parents and carers of our students.

There were a number of workshops being run so that the parents / carers could experience first hand what it is like to be taught at The Brades Lodge.  In food technology the smell of mince pies and sponge cakes filled the room and adjacent corridors, in science, the practical aspects taught some parents that even metals can burn! However, no-one decided that they would go outside and plant some bulbs.

We had Brook in to talk about sexual health to the parents and most sat down and took advantage of this opportunity.

Of course there was also the opportunity to sit and talk to staff about the reports of the students which were given out on the day too.

The general theme of comments from the people who attended was that the school is a great place and has really promoted a positive change in the students.

A big Thank You to Brook for coming and setting up the workshop, to the staff for setting up the lessons, to the students on site for helping visitors and of course to the parents and carers for coming and making the day a success.
